Thanks to the generous support of the Knight Foundation in the form of a Knight Arts Challenge Grant, 826michigan is just a few short months from opening the doors of the Detroit Robot Factory to students for all things creative writing. This February, in anticipation of the Detroit Robot Factory’s grand opening (and in service of the challenge presented by the challenge grant), 826michigan will host Parka Weather at the enchanting Grand Army of the Republic Building in Detroit. The evening will feature a keynote address from National Book Award finalist Angela Flournoy (The Turner House), and a custom meal for guests created by award-winning Chef Sarah Welch of Republic Tavern Detroit.
