From September 23 to 28, 826michigan will be participating in The Great Write-Off 2013.

TGWO is a friendly competition between Southeast Michigan-area literary nonprofits in which writers set goals (twelve blog posts, three sonnets, those pesky grad school essays. . .) and fundraise in support of reaching them. The funds then go to 826michigan’s free creative writing programs for 2,700 young writers in Ypsilanti, Ann Arbor, and Detroit. The Great Write-Off culminates in The State of the Book, a day-long literary symposium celebrating Michigan writers and writing.

Last year, eight intrepid writers raised $3,000 for 826michigan! We can’t wait to help YOU reach your writing goals, and feel good about doing it, in this year’s Great Write-Off. Click here for an informal registration form — we’ll contact you with more details in late August.
