Recently, we at 826michigan were contacted about an opportunity to collaborate with the one and only Kid President, the force behind a treasure trove of touching, thought-provoking, star-studded videos and blog posts that promote the imagination and value the voices of young people.
To celebrate the launch of Kid President’s Guide to Being Awesome, 826michigan students in three cities and four programs are writing original work inspired by the activities in Robby’s new book. We are celebrating folks who are not normally celebrated by writing and creating homemade awards and personalized poems. Be on the look out for reports from our Drop-in Tutoring on Liberty Street in Ann Arbor, Drop-in Tutoring on Washington Street in Ypsilanti, and Drop-in Writing at the Whittaker Road Branch of the Ypsilanti Public Library today, and awards from Drop-in Writing for Wee-Bots at the Campbell Branch of the Detroit Public Library next week. We ARE the party with writing all day long today and everyday, Robby!
