Look for this workshop
next season!

Each copy of every issue of harlequin creature, a not-for-profit 501(c)3 arts and literary journal, is typed on an old typewriter by friends in Ann Arbor, New York, and Los Angeles; covers for the journals are letter-pressed and then hand bound. In this workshop, we’ll have the chance to create our own 826 issue of a journal using the same processes–and the same machines–that harlequin creature uses! We’ll start by learning a bit of history about typewriters, and how to use them with practice typing tongue twisters. Then we’ll get to work creating a page about us for a non-digital Facebook of sorts, complete with typing, drawing, and collaging. At the close of the workshop, we will bind all the pages into a book on the spot. All students will receive a xeroxed copy of the creation, and the journal will stay on display in the 826 library for all time!

Parents and families are welcome to arrive at 7:45pm for a brief launch party and student reading!
