Seventh Annual Storymakers Dinner Invitation

You are cordially invited to join 826michigan and special guest Frances Stroh for a charming evening under the stars at Zingerman’s beautiful Cornman Farms in Dexter, Michigan.

STORYMAKERS DINNER is a celebration that honors important writers and their stories, from nationally known novelists to emerging young authors in our community. Each spring, 826michigan partners with Zingerman’s Community of Businesses to bring together a noted person of letters and more than one hundred friends committed to 826michigan’s—-and our students’—-success. We promise to provide outstanding food and drink alongside extraordinary stories.

About Storymakers Dinner

This June 8, Grosse Pointe native Frances Stroh will share her captivating tales with us at the enchanting Zingerman’s Cornman Farms in Dexter.

 About Frances Stroh

About Frances Stroh

On the heels of Miller and Bud, there was another great American beer company made all the better because it was family owned in the heart of a great midwestern city: Detroit. Founded in 1850, the Stroh Brewing Company became an industry giant by 1981. By 1992, the Stroh family possessed the largest private beer fortune in America. Then things took a turn for the worse. Frances Stroh chronicles the spectacular implosion of this all-American empire and family in BEER MONEY: A Memoir of Privilege and Loss (HarperCollins; On sale May 3, 2016; Hardcover), a poignant, intricately woven, and surprisingly relatable account of upper-class dysfunction. Frances Stroh was born in Detroit and raised in Grosse Pointe, Michigan.
