Students work in small groups with peers and adult volunteers to brainstorm, write, revise, share, and draft an original story. Weekly commitment and program registration is required.

What to Expect
Students work in small groups with volunteers in a safe and supportive environment for writing. Through collaborative writing exercises and time for individual writing projects, students draft an original story.
Important note: Our Ypsilanti Writing Lab program gives priority registration to students who live in the Ypsilanti area (including Ypsilanti Township and Superior Township) or who attend public or charter school in Ypsilanti. Students who do not meet this criteria will be automatically placed on a waitlist and will be contacted with an update on their registration status one week prior to the start of the program. Filling out the registration form does not guarantee a spot in the program—please look out for an email confirmation. Thank you for understanding!
