After-school Writing Labs

FREE weekly programs for students to explore their creativity through writing. 

Weekly writing programs for students in elementary and middle school. Students work in small groups with peers and adult volunteers to brainstorm, write, revise, share, and publish original writing. Weekly commitment and program registration is required.

What to Expect

Students work in small groups with volunteers in a safe and supportive environment for writing. Through collaborative writing exercises and time for individual writing projects, students draft an original story for publication at the end of the semester.

A Tiptoe From the Shadows

In the summer of 2021, our fearless and friendly group of writers and volunteers embarked on an 8-week virtual journey together. Each writer composed their own story with feeling, description, an interesting setting, and unique characters. We also wrote a story all together.
