May 16, 2014 | Press

It’s no secret – 826michigan students are a talented bunch! Lately our students have been getting some much-deserved attention in the news.

Hanel Baveja was one of three Michigan students to be named a 2014 Presidential Scholar by the United States Department of Education. Hanel is a senior at Huron High School, and will be one of 20 students nationwide honored in Washington, D.C., this June for excellence in the arts. Congratulations, Hanel!

Four 826michigan students were also featured in this video by filmmaker Donald Harrison in collaboration with The Heidelberg Project. “I See Faces In All Places,” part of the University of Michigan Museum of Art’s Many Voices project, pairs interactive video portraits and artwork from The Heidelberg Project with voice-overs by 826michigan students Shane Meria, Dallas Meria, Aliyah Maxwell, and Priscilla Du. Great job, everyone!
