Well, after more phone calls and emails than I can reasonably count, we have secured the Cowboy Junkies for our Bookeaters event in October! Hooray for Erin (who did all the phone calling and emailing)! Many of you may know the Cowboy Junkies, who, in addition to playing a soothing blend of country and alternative music, have been around for about twenty years and released almost as many albums. They will be joining Pulitzer-prize nominated writer and editor Dave Eggers (A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius, McSweeney’s) and Davy Rothbart (founder of Found magazine) on an as-yet-unidentified stage (we’re so close to figuring it out!) on the night of Sunday, October 29.
