Mittenfest gathers bands in Ypsilanti, raises funds for volunteer group

“YPSILANTI — The 14th annual Mittenfest got underway Friday, Dec. 27 at the Riverside Arts Center in Ypsilanti.

The charitable holiday music festival kicked off with performances by Ki5, Blue Jeans, Scary Women, Little Traps, Dani Darling, The Daynites and Detroit/Ypsilanti-band Frontier Ruckus

The festival serves as a fundraiser for 826michigan, a program that aims to help students ages 6 to 18 with their writing skills and confidence. The program serves about 3,500 students on average each year in Detroit, Ypsilanti and Ann Arbor.”
