MEGAWORKSHOP!

November 27, 2007 | 826 Blog Post

You know how you’re always bugging us about workshops? You want more, you want different ages, you couldn’t register in time, you want to be able to come to more than two, can we change the date of this particular workshop because your daughter has a dental appointment that day…well, you get the picture.

And so, in an effort to address all the problems at once, we present: 826michigan’s MEGAWORKSHOP!!

What it is: Monday through Thursday from December 3-20, from 6-7pm, we’ll be hosting drop-in writing time. These informal sessions will involve a veritable parade of inspiration as our volunteers lead an all-ages group through writing exercises covering fiction, poetry, and more!

What else it means: You can come to as many session as you want, just one or all twelve. You don’t have to register in advance. Students aged 6-18 are welcome, as are all 826michigan volunteers. Just show up!

Something else: We’ll be compiling all the best writing from the MEGAWORKSHOP into a chapbook!

If you have any questions about the MEGAWORKSHOP, email amy@826michigan.org. Otherwise, we’ll see you all next Monday night!

Oooh! The great folks from Paperblanks have donated over $37,000 worth of their beautiful journals to all seven 826 writing centers. These journals will be put to great use by our tutoring and workshop students who are learning each day that the writing process involves lots and lots of paper. We are honored to receive this wonderful gift!
